Recent models have improved at CAD. We expect progress to accelerate as models become even better at reasoning across the different representations used in architecture and engineering: geometry, drawings, images, materials, physical constraints, specifications, regulations, code, etc. Early users and our own experience suggest that agents are already useful design collaborators. They can help with repetitive CAD work, fabrication options, part sourcing and cost estimates. We expect that as models improve, agents will be able to explore many different designs, run simulations, and check constraints across an entire project. CAD will become a shared workspace for humans and agents. Because design decisions made in CAD shape much of what is eventually built, even modest improvements could have wide effects. So my idea was to build an app from scratch that shows everything I needed to stay up to date, avoiding distractions, with markets + global news (market tickers + RSS feeds). Also, I integrated candlestick charts with indicators, portfolio tracking and notifications (to cover the most important part of TradingView). I even ended up adding local computer metrics like CPU+RAM usage, social metrics and the weather. Since i understand not every mac has a notch, I added the feature of a simulated one, and being able to pin any metric in the menu bar. Some tech details: Native Swift/SwiftUI, 7 MB DMG, notarized, macOS 14+. Crypto comes from Hyperliquid's allMids WebSocket, stocks from polling Yahoo, all fetched in-process on your Mac. The notch is detected with safeAreaInsets.top > 0, the two side rectangles come from NSScreen's auxiliaryTopLeftArea and auxiliaryTopRightArea, and the strip is an NSPanel sitting above the menu bar window level. No accounts. The only thing it sends optionally, are basic usage stats. Free forever after a 7-day trial: one slot of each kind, one news feed, one alert. Pro is $5/mo or $40 lifetime. Find a real bug and I'll give you at least a month of Pro. One thing I want feedback on: The performance/battery impact of it. If you see climbing world cup/championship, there is this 3D modelling thing [1]. I want that for my weekly bouldering. I scanned my local climbing gym into 3D mesh using iphone. Built a simple editor to trim, merge, move/rotate meshes. You can interact with the mesh, view routes, view climb, etc. So this is unlike many gaussian splatting projects where the main use is for viewing. I built a pipeline in updating climbing walls. Climbing routes are manually annotated. Climbing videos are registered against the 3D mesh. Based on one input video, body positions resolved into 3D/4D space. you can view the body landmarks from different angle. COLMAP, OpenMVS, fastapi, svelte, database is just local json files. In order to keep context small (mainly for humans) I kept the specs into mermaid diagrams. When communicating with humans; diagrams were easy to follow and to remember. But when I asked the agent to implement what's in the diagram, most of the times it failed. So I came into conclusion that agents are good into writing mermaid diagrams but they are not good into reading them. I built graph2agent in order to deterministically (without inference :) ) convert mermaid diagrams into digestible rich text for agents. examples: https://ift.tt/sIZm2hk... This gave us 50% error reduction for any class of diagrams and 80% error reduction for sequence diagrams specifically. Also Input tokens increased on avg by 8% (which is expected) but Reasoning tokens dropped by almost 50%. It's a bit like NYT Spelling Bee, except it's multiplayer and only your best (longest) word counts toward your score. So, instead of trying to find as many words as possible, the game is more about finding one unusually good word. You can play with friends in a private match, or, you can join a public Arena match to play against other players who are online. If no one else is around, you'll be matched with a bot. The game works well with just 2 players, but, also works with bigger groups since the game isn't turn-based. Started in OneNote around 2011, moved to Obsidian in 2021 [1], imported everything with a Python script [2]. Notes are compounding over time, and that is where my writing comes from. The Semantic Layer note started in 2022, became a four-part blog series, then a chapter of my book. Materialized Views, One Big Table, dbt and OLAP were separate notes written years apart.
